Angèle was born and raised in Sudbury and graduated from the Physiotherapy program at the University of Ottawa in 2002. She has been practicing Physiotherapy in outpatient orthopedics in the Sudbury area since, and is co-owner of Advantage Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic.
Angèle has recently become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists. Physiotherapists who are Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) have completed extensive post-graduate education in the area of orthopaedics and have achieved internationally-recognized qualifications in hands-on manual and manipulative therapy. Physiotherapists with the FCAMPT designation are committed to providing the highest level of quality, patient-centred care combining clinical experience with evidence-based practice.
Angèle has also completed Level 1 from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, as well as and the advanced level of Intramuscular Manual Therapy/Trigger Point Dry Needling. She has extensive experience assessing and treating vertigo, TMJ dysfunctions, sports related injuries, pre and post-pregnancy pain as well as spinal injuries.
Chris graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2000 and has worked solely in outpatient orthopedics ever since.He obtained his FCAMPT designation in 2014 and is currently a registered mentor and instructor with the Orthopedic Division of the CPA. He also holds an assistant instructor position with Kinetacore. Other training includes level 2 trigger point dry needling, Kinesiotaping and certification with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.
In 2007, Chris, along with Angele Carriere opened Advantage Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic with the goals to provide the best evidence based orthopedic treatments in Sudbury.
Lisa Chartrand received her Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree with a concentration in Health Promotion from Laurentian University in 2006. She is a Certified Kinesiologist in good standing with the Ontario Kinesiology Association and also holds a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) and a Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) certification.
Since 2006, Lisa has been providing direct patient care as a Certified Kinesiologist. Lisa has been an employee of Advantage Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic since its opening in October 2007 where she has expanded her portfolio to include PDA's, FCE's and LASER Therapy and Ergonomic Assessments.
Lisa is a certified Functional Capacity Interpreter and Evaluator (FCE) trained on the Arcon digital equipment through Metriks Inc. which is portable for on and off site testing. Her training as a LASER technician using the Bioflex Low Intensity Laser Therapy equipment is through Meditech International Inc. Lisa treats a variety of chronic, acute, degenerative, repetitive, trauma and sports injuries with the LASER at Advantage Physiotherapy .
Lisa also volunteers her time on weekends as well as evenings to provide first aid care, taping and education to various sports teams in our community.
Born and raised in Sudbury , Lyne always had a particular interest in orthopedic and sports injuries, which led her to a career in Physiotherapy. She graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2009 with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy and also holds a Bachelor of Science from Laurentian University 2006). She is thrilled to be back in Northern Ontario and looks forward to continuing her professional development with courses in manual therapy, and acupuncture.
Melissa was born and raised in the Greater Sudbury region. She graduated from The Canadian College Of Massage And Hydrotherapy in 2003. She has been registered in good standing with The College Of Massage Therapists Of Ontario since 2004. Melissa has worked in many settings throughout the years and these experiences have lead to a great interest for the rehabilitative aspects of massage therapy. She is thrilled to be working along side such skilled professionals and looks forward to helping those who can benefit from massage therapy.
Born and raised in Sudbury, Shelly graduated from the Physiotherapy program at the University of Ottawa in 1998. She has been practicing in pediatrics since 2000 and is dedicated to kids' well being. Shelly has taken numerous neurodevelopmental technique (NDT), gait analysis and kinesiotaping courses always with the focus on pediatrics. She is an Assistive Devices Program (ADP) authorizer with a keen interest in keeping up to date in the newest pediatric equipment available.
Shelly is interested in all aspects of pediatric physiotherapy, especially infant motor development and orthopedic rehab. She is also bilingual and happy to treat in both English and French.
Amanda graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2013. Prior to that, she completed an Honors Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Laurentian University in 2011. Amanda is excited to be back in Sudbury as part of the Advantage Physiotherapy team.
She strives to help her clients attain their goals by incorporating a multimodal treatment approach, including manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, individualized exercise programs, and education. She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and is currently continuing her professional development with courses in manual therapy.
Louise was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario. She graduated from the Canadian College Of Massage And Hydrotherapy in 1998, and has been been registered and in good standing with the College Of Massage Therapist Of Ontario since 1998. She has been practicing Massage Therapy in the Greater Sudbury area since October of 1998 and has worked in a few multi-disciplinary clinical settings with a variety of alternative therapies.
Over the years, she has become certified in several types of modalities such as TMJ treatment, deep tissue and fascial release, Thai massage, Structural Alignment, Strain/Counterstrain, which she utilizes to better help her clientele at Advantage Physiotherapy, and is committed to improving her skills and professional development by attending Continuing Education programs. Louise is very pleased to offer past, current and new clients a wonderful Massage Therapy setting alongside amazing and skilled professional health care providers that offer great treatment options to help and improve clients’ rehabilitation and recovery.
Melissa was born and raised in Sudbury and has been working at Advantage Physiotherapy since it opened in October 2007. She is responsible for the entire administrative functioning of the clinic and is the first person new clients meet as they walk through the door. She looks forward to many more years working at Advantage Physiotherapy.
